The Oberalp pass (Olberalpass in German) is located in the Swiss Alps of the Graub├╝nden/Uri region in Switzerland and sits at an altitude of 2,004 m (6,706 ft.) above sea level. This high mountain pass hosts exquisite views of the glacier peaks and a series of striking slopes that course down into a lovely wind of easy serpentines - making this route the ultimate pleasure ride for motorists. The train is also a worthy option for those wanting to be adventurous and is said to one of the most beautiful - offering travelers a glimpse of the pristine Lake Toma. The road over this mountain pass in inaccessible in winter for those driving, but the Furka-Oberalp railway line runs all year around if travel needed during that time. Road closure depends on weather conditions and can fluctuate between late October and early December - to travel on this road should be planned accordingly.
