This high mountain pass is positioned at an altitude of 1,641m (5,384 ft.) in the Central Eastern Alps of Austria and links the Lungau district in Salzburg with Katschtal in Carinthia. The Katschberg Pass is a motorcyclist’s paradise and provides bikers with smooth surface that’s easy to navigate and exquisite backdrops of the neighboring mountains. The Hohe Tauern sits to the west of this pass with the Gurktaler Alps in the east, and for those who want to enjoy some downhill skiing - the Katschberg-Aineck area houses 16 lifts and 60 magnificent kilometers of ski tracks extending from Tschaneck to the Aineck Mountain. Unless there is a snow fall that blocks the roads - this pass is generally open all year around.(shorter; limitied information)
